FAQs

FAQ’s for EXTENTIONS
  1. How long will the Indian or Brazilian Remy Hair last?
With proper care and maintenance your hair can last up to a whole year.

  2. How much hair should I order?
For added volume to your existing hair 4oz (being one bundle) should suffice but you will need at least 8oz to 10 oz maybe even 12oz for a full head of hair. The look also depends on the texture and length you purchase. Longer the length lesser the volume will be, buy the product based on this consideration.

  3. What types or textures should I order?
You should base the texture of the hair you order on the basis of the look you are trying to achieve. Of course, when you have existing hair you are trying to blend the hair together and do not have the same flexibility as when you have no hair and can achieve any look you want.

  4. Is it OK to color treat the hair I buy?
Yes, since the hair is 100% human hair, it can be colored or dyed. Please talk to your hair professional before proceeding.

  5. What is “wefted” hair?
It is loose hair that is stitched together and can be weaved or clipped into your existing hair.

  6. What is Virgin Human Hair?
Virgin Human Hair is raw and unprocessed hair, having hand selected strands that are kept in a uniform direction.

  7. What is Remy Hair?
Remy Hair is selected with “root end first” from a single donor. Cuticles are kept intact and each hair strand is kept in one direction. This process ensures stronger, long lasting, and beautiful hair that does not matt or tangle easily.

  8. What is the difference between Single Drawn and Double Drawn Hair?
Single Drawn Hair is cut and gathered in a ponytail from one donor. Therefore, there are few natural shorter strands within the bundle of hair. The very short hair are removed. The hair are labeled and sold as 15” to 18” because there are a few 15” to 17” strands within the bundle.

Double Drawn Hair contains hair of the same length. This type of hair is double processed to draw out the shorter length strands. It may take 10 lbs. of hair to produce 1 lb. of 16” double drawn. This is very expensive one, as this procedure is done by hand through a repetitive process. 1 lb. of 16” double drawn hair will only have 16” strands in the bundle.

  9. Why use Indian and Brazilian Hair?
Indian and Brazilian Hair are currently among the best and most stylish hair in the market for hair extensions. The hair are collected from one donor and have cuticles intact and strands aligned. They come in different textures and can be dyed to different shades. The Indian & Brazilian Hair blend very well with African American Hair and are highly recommended for African Americans. Of course, Latinas’ also prefer the Brazilian hair for its superior styling & colors.

When it comes to wearing weaves and hair extensions, the goal should always be to obtain a natural-like appearance. No one deliberately wants their weave to be easily detected, which is why many installations require leaving hair out in the front to cover tracks. But with this weaving method comes the hassle of blending your own hair texture with the hair texture of the extensions—talk about annoying. Many times in order to be successful at the blending process, constant heat is being applied and the risk of heat damage is high. But thanks to closures–a small hair unit used to cover the front of the hair where you would normally leave hair out to give your install a natural hairline appearance–wearing a believable weave without causing any damage to your hair doesn’t have to be unbelievable. (Or should I say unbeweavable?)

  10. LACE CLOSURES are made with a lace-like foundation with hair strands embedded into the tiny holes.

Pros: It gives a scalp-like appearance when placed against your skin or natural scalp. It also allows for a very flat and easy application that will make your install look very real.

Cons: You’ll need to do some tweaking to lace closures to achieve the best results. Because the hair strands are directly embedded into the sheer lace, tiny black knots where the hair and lace meet are visible when placed against your skin, which means you’ll have to bleach the knots to get rid of the grid-like effect the dots create. And if not bleached correctly, you risk ruining your closure and the hair attached—and wasting your money. Alternatively, you may add concealer or foundation to the lace for an easy route to achieve a natural appearance.

  11. SILK BASE CLOSURES are made with hair strands embedded into a nude, skin-like silk material that is reinforced with lace.

Pros: Silk base closures tend to last longer and generally don’t require any bleaching like lace closures. Because of the silk material backing on the closure, the knots are not visible and mimic the scalp without much alteration.

Cons: While the silk material helps to conceal the knots to create the appearance of a real scalp, every scalp isn’t created equal so if you are of darker complexion and have a much darker scalp, you will need to alter and tint your silk base. Also, this type of closure tends to be a little thicker, which can pose as a challenge with getting a super flat install.

Lace frontal - These units are made with a frontal and bundles.

Full lace - Full lace feature lace throughout the entire wig with the hair hand-tied, like frontals. Full lace wigs come with combs and adjustable straps. Full lace wigs are able to be parted anywhere as well and put into ponytails or other parted styles.

You can take some of your foundation or powder on a flat foundation brush and just lightly rub some on in the inside of the unit on the lace.

  6. How long will my wig last?
The life of your unit is determined by how the unit is cared for, stored when not in use, handled, and properly moisturized. Please refer to our care page for care and maintenance suggestions. If the unit is properly cared for, it can last 2+ years. If your lace is balding on your lace frontal or lace closure unit, you have the option of the frontal or closure being replaced which can make their life longer.

  7. I'm new to wearing wigs, which is best for me?
